Christmas in Jaisalmer

sunny

Wow, Merry Christmas everybody!

My Christmas began with an early morning public bus from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. Took a travel sickness pill and slept the entire way. NICE!
Here, Jaisalmer is beautiful. It doesn't seem as touristy, and the buildings all look like they sprang up out of the sand. The fort is huge, and one of the only living citadels left, a quarter of the city's population live there. It is described as a huge sand castle, and it's easy to see why. The views from it are incredible. Went out for a lovely Christmas dinner, followed by beer and rum on the roof of our hotel.

This afternoon we are going on a camel safari out into the desert, where we will sleep in tents! I'm pretty psyched, and I'll bring lots of pictures home (probably mostly of my camel :P).

Missing you all, Christmas is weird away.

Nan- in case Ash didn't tell you, a carpet may be arriving for me. Actually two. Thanks. Also I was going to try calling for Christmas, but the lines were all busy. Hope it was a blast.

Hi Ria, Merry Christmas!!! Bit different down here without you this Christmas, missed your usual entertaining, bubbly personality. I hope you are back to enjoying your food again, maybe stick to the street food, it sounds like its better for you, haha. Keep on having an awesome time. Love you heaps, mum xx (peterson says hi too x)

Hey Ria,
Sounds like its the trip of a lifetime...That's great. May it continue to be so. :0)
Gotta say Christmas (at Frankston) was quite different without you. You are an important addition to the noise and fun level. Stay safe. Peterson. xo
